Lost Level: Episode Fifty

Guys! It’s episode fifty! We made it! So bust out the champagne while listening to this very special episode where we talk exclusively about games. There’s a lot of video games coming out around this season, and its hard to cover them all. However, we’re doing our very best to give you, our loyal listeners, our thoughts on some of the hottest titles that are coming out. So what games are we going to discuss this time? Let’s go down the list. We have Halo 4, the latest game in the popular franchise helmed by a new studio: 343 Industries. We also get into the new DMC demo, which is also a popular series being handled by a new developer. This time it’s Ninja Theory pulling the reins. Next is Assassin’s Creed 3. Then Chris plays Persona 4 Golden, a handheld J-RPG, and actually likes it. No, really. It’s weird. Finally, we fellate The Walking Dead by Telltale Games a little bit more as we give out final thoughts on the first season.

Persona 4: The Ultimate in Mayonaka Arena Trailer

The good news, or as Dwayne Johnson’s character in Fast Five calls it– the “dessert” (why the hell am I referencing that!?): It moves pretty as expected and it does feel like a Arc System Works fighter. No surprises there.

Now for the bad news, which is also not surprising: The game will be coming out to Japanese arcades first in Spring 2012, and the console ports (PS3/360) in Summer 2012. Do the math and it’ll be out in North America in either Fall 2012 (if we’re lucky) or early 2013.

Persona 4 Vita and Persona 4 Fighting Game Confirmed!

I’m shaking as I type this…

First off: Persona 4: The Golden! It’s an enhanced port for the Vita and it has new characters, new movie scenarios, new animated cut-scenes, and more! It will also include about 1.5 times the amount of voice-overs from the original PlayStation 2 version and it’ll be out in Japan in Spring 2012. Also, it’ll use some of the communication features of the PS Vita. SWEET!

And then the shocker: A NEW Persona 4 fighting game from Atlus AND Arc Systems Works (BlazBlue) called Persona 4: The Ultimate In Mayonaka Arena!  It’s for the PS3/360/Arcade and it will take place 2 years after the events of P4. The cast from P4 AND Persona 3 will be featured in the game.
