Guys! It’s episode fifty! We made it! So bust out the champagne while listening to this very special episode where we talk exclusively about games. There’s a lot of video games coming out around this season, and its hard to cover them all. However, we’re doing our very best to give you, our loyal listeners, our thoughts on some of the hottest titles that are coming out. So what games are we going to discuss this time? Let’s go down the list. We have Halo 4, the latest game in the popular franchise helmed by a new studio: 343 Industries. We also get into the new DMC demo, which is also a popular series being handled by a new developer. This time it’s Ninja Theory pulling the reins. Next is Assassin’s Creed 3. Then Chris plays Persona 4 Golden, a handheld J-RPG, and actually likes it. No, really. It’s weird. Finally, we fellate The Walking Dead by Telltale Games a little bit more as we give out final thoughts on the first season.

Ubisoft is working on Assassin’s Creed 3. Derr. That was obvious. However, what wasn’t so obvious is the when and the where of the game’s story line. We’ve all had our own hopes and theories, but those have all been put to rest. Today, Ubisoft revealed the box art of Assassin’s Creed 3, and it becomes clear we will be taking a trip to the American Revolution.
From the box art you can clearly see an assassin leaping onto a red coat as an American flag stands waves in the background. We can also see that the assassin is wielding hatchet that is made to look like the Assassin’s emblem that we’ve seen throughout the games. He also has a bow & arrow set and a firearm. The prevalence of guns during that era serves as an opportunity to create some interesting new gameplay features or situations. It will be interesting to see where Ubisoft goes with this.
Assassin’s Creed 3 will be out on October 30th for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. It would be a lot cooler if it came out on July 4th. However, I’m not in charge of making these decisions… but I should be!

This week on The Lost Level… Adam shares us his torturous-yet-addicting adventures with Dark Souls, possibly one of this year’s GOTY (that’s Game of the Year) contenders. Meanwhile, G and Chris are going to be discussing the latest Spider-Man title, Edge of Time, which is clearly not a GOTY contender. Tune in to find out why!
Then, as always, there’s the news which include: Battlefield 3’s single player campaign reportedly to be “dull”, PS3’s “Long Live Play” commercial, more Dead Space 3 rumors, Assassin’s Creed III’s plot, Fast and Furious sequel updates, and more!
Plus: the gang will also be talking about their first Apple products due to the recent passing of Steve Jobs. Your genius will be missed, good sir.
