New Dark Knight Rises Teaser Poster

The movie posters for all the Nolan Batman movies have been absolutely amazing. The latest poster is no exception. The broken cowl is such a powerful symbol, and something we haven’t really seen in a Batman movie. Batman has always been portrayed as the icon. Nolan boldly has built a trilogy on the man. After the break I give my idea of what The Dark Knight Rises will be about, This is based on what we know about the story so far, so you have been warned. Spoilers

Valentine’s Day Isn’t A Good Day… To Die Hard

So it’s Valentine’s Day, you’re with your significant other, and/or friend with benefits, and they want to go out for a nice romantic evening. Perhaps your idea of romance involves a little action. Luckily for you,  John McClane is at it again! (What kind of action did you think I meant?) You now have plans to visit Moscow, because John’s son is in some trouble over there. Explain to your significant other, and/or friend with benefits that John just has to kill a bunch of people, and cause a ruckus for just a couple hours, but after that it’s back to quality time…

If that doesn’t sound apprealing to them, then you should question your relationship with your significant other, and/or friend with benefits. Life is way too short to Die Hard. (Get your mind out of the gutter.)

A Good Day to Die Hard opens Febuary 14, 2013.

Who would you like to see cast as John’s son? Let us know.

Sony No Longer Paying For 3D Glasses

The Hollywood Reporter has said that Sony issued a letter to cinemas stating that it will no longer be flipping the bill for the 3D glasses for its movies. As of May 1st 2012 theaters will have to supply their own glasses for Sony movies. This would save Sony $5-$10 million per film. Many other studios have also begun to talk about doing something similar.

Chris posts a blog?

Wait? What?

Yep, I’ve neglected the blog section long enough. This week we decided on not doing a podcast because of the holiday, and well, Adam was hanging out in the woods again…  My performance on the last The Lost Level was to be desired, so I wanted to formally apologize. I blame lack of sleep, and lack of Guinness. I never realized just how important my precast ritual is, but wow…

Tuesday was the start of the gaming season with Resistance 3, Warhammer 40k: Space Marine, and Dead Island. Some people will say last week because of Deus Ex:  Human Revolution, but that game felt like it came out of nowhere. Sorry Deus Ex fans, it did.

REVIEW: Colombiana

Colombiana has the pedigree of great films, unfortunatley Luc Besson’s latest screenplay does little to capture the spirit of his previous work. La Femme Nikta and  Leon: The Professional were fresh, full of artistic style and imagination. Colombiana feels like a cheap ripoff of the genre he has created.

Wizard World Chicago 2011 — The Report

The Lost Level crew invaded Chicago Comic Con (C3) this past weekend; ready to get raid the merchants, and linger in the alley. The Chicago Comic Con, formerly Wizard World Chicago, has evolved into a large “Bazaar” of sorts, full of autograph hounds, and cosplayers. While plenty of artists filled the ever growing “alley” located in the back of the con, one glaring problem comes to the forefront, no representation from the larger names of Marvel or DC.

This Week… the August 10th Edition

Hey internet, it’s been awhile. As you can see, we weren’t able to get together this week to record a new episode of The Lost Level. Fear not friends, we are still here. Chris had to celebrate his birthday with a few Guiness, and the rest of the guys busted out the sewing machines for this weekend!

The gang is crashing Chicago Comic Con! We will be talking about the experience, as well as the latest in news on the next episode. If you are attending the show please drop us an email, and we can meet up. We would love to meet and greet fans of the show. What obscure Japanese character will G be? Will Chris actually dress up this year? Will Adam show his claws? Stay tuned for pics, podcasts, and all the G someone can handle!
