RUMOR: Final Fantasy XV will be announced at E3 2012

Says the latest GamesMaster UK magazine, that is. According to the mag and based on TheSilentChief‘s report:
“…Square Enix has something special planned for the 25th anniversary of Final Fantasy next year.
According to a rumor found in latest issue of the magazine; Final Fantasy XV will be announced during a special Square Enix E3 2012 press conference. The next installment to the long running franchise is also rumored to be coming to Wii U and PC along with the PS3 and 360.”
Excuse me, but what the fuck and seriously: Wii U and the PC?! That seems pretty BS-y right there since Square Enix isn’t dumb enough to have their most important franchise go super multi-platform. Actually wait — they have been that dumb recently, but I still don’t see them doing such a bizarre move because it isn’t really their, I should say, “style”.
It is, more or less, the equivalent of having Kingdom Hearts 3 being ported to the PC, or a Crystal Chronicles game to be simultaneously released in all 3 major console platforms (PS3/360/Wii U).
Unless of course FFXV is being handled by a Western studio or team, which is very unlikely. I know some folks would like that.
On the other hand: The 25th anniversary is indeed next year and I can see them finally (finally) announcing the next major numbered game, and yes E3 2012 would be the ideal timeframe.
Whatever the case may be, I just want my Hiroyuki Ito directed Final Fantasy with either Yoshitaka Amano or Akihiko Yoshida handling the character designs, and Nobuo Uematsu fully composing the game’s supposed ethereal soundtrack. Fuck, I can always dream.
